Donald Donnelly

Donald Donnelly, 90, of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Pleasant View. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Monday, June 18, 2018 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Donald was born May 9, 1928 in Marseilles, Illinois to Carl and Rosella (Siebert) Donnelly. He married Margaret Stoudt on October 3, 1953 in St. Francis of Assisi Church. Don served in the United States Army during the Korean war. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church and their men's club. He retired in 1986 from Libby Owens Ford. In his free time Don enjoyed bowling, golf, watching baseball, watching westerns on TV, and dancing with his wife; especially doing the polka. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; five children, Donald C (Jackie) Donnelly, Doreen Charbonneau, David (Melody) Donnelly, Deeann (Keith) Piercy, and Dean Donnelly; eleven grandchildren, Christopher Donnelly, Lindsay (Bill) Kelm, Tara (Derrick) Seabrook, Brittany Donnelly, Jeremy Charbonneau, Jessica (Grant) Callahan, Jennifer Charbonneau, Kyle (Erin) Donnelly, Adecia Henkel, Harley Kate Piercy, and Carter Piercy; eighteen great grandchildren; and six siblings, Carl Donnelly, Nora "Bonnie"Wagner, Gary (Diane) Donnelly, Gerald Donnelly, Raymond Donnelly, and Kenneth "Digger" Donnelly. He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother in infancy; and one sister, Helen Howell. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Charbonneau, Harley Piercy, Jeff Beldon, Rick Stoudt, Carter Piercy, and Chris Donnelly. Honorary pallbearers will be Harry Donnelly, Marko Kossaris, Larry Johnson, Steve Martin, and Kyle Donnelly. Memorials may be directed to St. Francis of Assisi Church.
