Donald L. Danielson

Donald L. Danielson, 94, of Seneca passed away Monday, July 30, 2018 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Funeral Service will be held at 11 am, Thursday, August 2 at Stavanger Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am, prior to services, at the church. Burial will be in Stavanger Cemetery. Donald was born June 11, 1924 in Miller Township to Armour and Edith (Bentley) Danielson. He married Betty Alsvick in 1947 and together they had five children. He attended a one-room elementary school in Miller Township and graduated from Seneca High School in 1942. He also attended Sam Houston State University. He retired from farming in the Seneca area in 1980. He was also employed as a vocational teacher and maintenance supervisor for 10 years in Texas school districts. He was a member of Stavanger Lutheran Church and served on Stavanger Church Council, and a member of Seneca High School Board of Education for 18 years. He is survived by three children, Karen (Jerry) Einhaus of Seneca, Cheryl (Bruce) Gage of rural Marseilles, and Kent (Sharon) Danielson of Miller Township; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roger (Evelyn) Danielson. He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Larry and John Danielson; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth (Don) Hinshaw; and a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald (Ruth) Danielson. Pallbearers will be his nephews and grandsons. Memorials may be directed to Stavanger Lutheran Church or Stavanger Cemetery.
