Donald Holcomb, 72, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at St. Francis Medical Center. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 12:00 noon Thursday, May 1, 2014 at First United Methodist Church with Pastor Dave Davies and Pastor Emanuel Gonzalez of Christ Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith, officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 pm with Masonic services at 7:00 pm Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home. He will also have a visitation Thursday prior to services from 11:00 to 12:00 at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Donald was born July 24, 1941 in Morris, Illinois to Joel and Francis (Slone) Holcomb. He married Blanca Jimenez/Ramires June 24, 2000 at First United Methodist Church. He retired March 18, 2014 from Ottawa Elementary School District as a bus driver. He was a member and past Master of Occidental Lodge in Ottawa and Streator, Ottawa York Rite Bodies, member and past patron of Mary E. Chapter and former Streator chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, Olivet Shrine and Joppa Shrine, Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem, past Associate Bethel Guardian for Bethel No. 52 of Job's Daughters in Ottawa, and most notably, a past chapter "Dad" (for almost 20 years) of Round Table Chapter, Order of DeMolay, in Ottawa. He is survived by his wife, Blanca; seven children, Richard (Gayle) Holcomb, Darlene (John) Riley, Keith (Patricia) Holcomb, Pete (Sandy) Ramirez Jr., Carlos (Debbie) Ramirez, Corina (Richard) Weitzel, Frankie Ramirez; one brother, Ken (Delia) Holcomb; thirty-two grandchildren; twenty-seven great-grandchildren; two aunts, Janice Holcomb, and Ruth Hauge; one uncle, David Holcomb; and his step-mother, Elinor Holcomb. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Alice (Sterba) Holcomb; one brother in infancy, Paul Holcomb; and his niece, Lisa A Holcomb. Memorials may be directed to family.
