Dennis L. Rockford, 55, of Ottawa, IL, passed away, Sunday, January 16, 2011 at his home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 21, 2011 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Gary Spears coordinating. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 - 8 pm, Thursday, January 20, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Dennis was born, January 17, 1955, in Ottawa, IL., to Raymond and Beatrice (Deckard) Rockford . He married Helen Harden on February 16, 1974 at the First Baptist Church in Ottawa. He worked for the Ottawa Grade School District 141. He was a drummer for many different groups for over 20 years, a member of SEIU (School Union), and the Men's Christian Group. Dennis loved golf, riding motorcycles, traveling, and dancing. Most of all, he loved the Lord with all his heart, soul, and mind. He was the Real Deal! He is survived by his wife; one sister, Julie (Scott) Hornbeck of Marseilles; and two brothers, Rick Rockford and Michael (Laura) Rockford, both of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be nephews, Bob Torres, Kevin and Scott Harden, Trevor and Ben Hornbeck, Jason and Brian Rockford. Memorials may be directed to the family for designated charities.
