Dennis Aubry

Dennis J. Aubry, 73, of Ottawa passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 am Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at St. Patrick's Church, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 pm Monday, December 3, 2018 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Dennis was born October 6, 1945, in Ottawa, Illinois to Vincent and Angela Rose (McGinnis) Aubry. He married Roberta Terry November 4, 1967 at St. Columba Church in Ottawa. He proudly served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 during the Viet Nam War, where he received numerous awards & commendations including the Purple Heart. He worked as a farmer and at Lyondell Chemical in Morris. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the VFW. He is survived by his children, Chris (Stacy) Aubry, Terry Aubry Garrett, Cheryl (Peter Lee) Aubry, and Julie Aubry; two grandchildren, Noah Aubry Garrett and Alexandra Aubry; his long time companion Gail Smith; four siblings, Sharon (Larry) Perkins, Ray (Rosie) Aubry, Emmett (Sue) Aubry, and Chuck (Pam) Aubry; and his favorite child & most beautiful girl, Piper the Golden Retriever who never left his side. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; and two siblings, Joanne Baker and Patrick Aubry. Pallbearers will be Ray Aubry and Chuck Aubry.
