Delbert Burford

Del Buford, 57, of Ottawa passed away Sunday July 20, 2008 peacefully, at his home, surrounded by his loving family after a long, hard battle with cancer. A Memorial Service will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from Noon til 3:00 PM at the funeral home. He was born on February 1, 1951 in St. Louis, Missouri to Delbert and Alma (Buchheite) Burford Sr. He married Julie Madenis on September 5, 1969 in Wheaton Illinois. Del worked as a sheet metal worker and also built custom homes in the Chicago suburbs. He was a restautanteur, having run the Little Italian Restaurants in Lisle and Naperville before becoming owner/operator of the Zeller Inn in Ottawa. He wanted to see the country so he then became a truck driver. Del was an avid golfer and Cardinals fan. He is survived by his wife, Julie; a daughter, Kristy (Tim) Kuniskis of Orange County, California and one brother, Steve (Debra) Burford of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents.
