Debora "Deb" Thumm

Debora Thumm, 49 of Ottawa passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at her home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 6, 2015 at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm Sunday, July 5, 2015 with prayers at1:45 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Deb was born June 16, 1966 in Ottawa, Illinois to John and Mildred (Newtson) McDonnell. She married James Thumm on October 18, 1985 in St Columba Church. She worked at the Ottawa Dental Lab for 17 years. She was a member of St. Columba Church, an Executive Board member at the United Way of Eastern LaSalle County and also taught CCD at St Columba. She is survived by her husband, James; her father, John (Rosemary) McDonnell; three sons, Josh, J.C. (Maureen), and Ben; one grandchild, Olivia Marie; one brother, Tom (Kelli) McDonnell of Ottawa; and one sister, Kathy (Tom) Bond of Marysville, OH and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mildred; one brother, James; and her father-in-law, William Thumm. Pallbearers will be Austin McDonnell, TJ McDonnell, Matt Bute, Jake Bute, Tom Bond and Tom Baker.
