OTTAWA -- Debbie Morganflash, 59, of Ottawa, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Ottawa Pavilion. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Anthony Suits officiating. Cremation rites were accorded. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be two hours prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. Ms. Morganflash was born Aug. 30, 1948, in Ottawa, to Walter and Eileen (Olsen) Watland. She graduated from Governor's State University with a master's degree in health science. She was a case manager for the Youth Service Bureau for many years. She also opened and directed a nonprofit outreach program for drug and alcohol abuse from 1992 to 1996. She is survived by a daughter, Mishelle (Emanuel) Young of Zion; two sons, Micah Morganflash and Noel Gomez, both of Ottawa; five grandchildren, Christopher, Emmanuel Jr., Anthony, Heavenleigh and Jovanah; four sisters, Sandy Mitchell, Kay Engel and Rebecca Pena, all of Ottawa, and Eileen (Cass) Gomez of Chicago; a brother, Randy (Marian) of Ottawa; and her companion, Butch Arreguin. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Don, Walter, Alan and Rodney; and one sister, Mary Blue. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
