Dean Denton

Dean Allen Denton, 35, of Ottawa, passed away Tuesday evening at St. Francis Medical Center. Visitation will be held at Ottawa Funeral Home Sunday, April 27 from 2 – 5 PM. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Monday, April 28 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa with Rev. Lourduraj Ignatius officiating. Cremation and private burial will be at a later date in Springfield, IL. Dean was born on December 14, 1972 in Springfield to Barry and Jan (Novak) Denton. He moved to Ottawa in 1986, was a graduate of St. Columba Grade School and Marquette High School. He also attended one year at IVCC. He worked along side his Dad as parts manager at Honda of Ottawa for sixteen years. Dean was a loyal Dallas Cowboy and Chicago White Sox fan. Dean is survived by his parents Barry and Jan Denton, two sisters Stacy Denton of Ottawa, Tiffany (Eamonn) Gibson of Rotonda West, Florida and their children Kieran, Kaileigh and Magen; two aunts Paulette (Eugene) Piasecki and cousins Jarrett, Aaron and Brian and Karin (Richard) Hahn and cousins Chris and Andrea; one uncle Don Novak and grandparents Gene Denton and Caroline Novak. Dean was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother Pauline Denton and maternal grandfather Ed Novak. Dean will be remembered for his gentle and kind spirit and tender heart. Pallbearers will be Charles Sheely, Tony Caputo, Jim Kubera, Russ Rexroat, Brian Ragan and Kieran Gibson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry Comer and Bob Weyand.
