David Updike

David E. Updike, 63, of Ottawa, died Sunday, June 21 at Rivershores Nursing Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 AM Wednesday at St. Patrick Church in Ottawa, with the Rev. Daniel Wilder officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM Tuesday at the Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Morris, with Military Services. David was born June 24, 1945, in Champaign, IL. To James & Leonora (Schwingle) Updike. He married Madonna Miller January 13, 1968 in Kinsman. He was a member of St. Patrick Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He had worked for AT&T as a Communication Technician and also worked for St. Patrick's Church and Grade School in Ottawa. He had served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967. He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Mary Beth Updike, one son Larry Updike both of Ottawa, one granddaughter Merlyn Updike of Ladd. He was preceded by his parents, one brother James Updike, two sisters Dolorus McGee and Louise McDaniel. Pallbearers will be the family members. Memorials may be directed to the family.
