David Henneke

David Henneke, age 78, passed away on July 5, 2026. David was born in Ottawa, IL, to Frederick Henneke and Jean (Scidmore) Henneke.

He was raised on the family farm alongside his father, where he developed a lifelong appreciation for farming and agriculture. David enjoyed raising registered Hereford cattle and took great pride in caring for them.

David worked for Bord Warner Ecklin for many years before later retiring from Walmart. In his spare time, David enjoyed riding his John Deere mower and watching his favorite westerns and cooking shows.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Henneke; his daughter, Sarah (Christopher) Born; his grandchildren, Arianna and Madilynn; his sister, Mary (Don) Miller; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick Henneke and Jean (Scidmore) Henneke; his son, Jason Henneke.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow. Burial will take place at Oakwood Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Cody Grandadam, Dallas Grandadam, Hayden Grandadam, Brodee Grandadam, Jimmy Mennie, and Eric Balzarini.
