David Dirker

July 22, 1947 — May 10, 2015

David Dirker, 67, of Seneca passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at Stavanger Lutheran Church with Rev. Philip Peterson officiating and Leilani Marsh singing. A luncheon will be held immediately following the service at the church. Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home has been entrusted with his services. Dave was born July 22, 1947 in Streator, Illinois to Joseph and Mable (Carretto) Dirker. He married Cynthia Patarozzi July 11, 1970 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa. He drove a freight truck for over 25 years for Illinois Valley Trucking in Peru. He retired from Spring Brook Marina in 2010 and had also worked as a truck driver, a.k.a. "Water Boy", for Timmons Farms for over 15 years. Dave was the kind of guy who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved spending time with his family; especially attending all the sporting events for his children and grandchildren. His favorite hobby was riding his Harley Davidson Fat Boy. He is survived by his loving wife, Cindy; two sons, Dr. Joe (Melissa) Dirker of Howards Grove, WI and Max (Christy) Dirker of Normal; six grandchildren, Jackson, Isaac, Chloe, Delaney, Ethan, and Vincent; two brothers, Jim (Cherie) Dirker and Gary Dirker; six nieces and nephews, Sarah (Chuck) Beck, Steve (Heidi) Patarozzi, Nichole Patarozzi, Daniel (Kim) Patarozzi, Rebecca (Kevin) Rakoczy and Jennifer (Eric) Milton; and his Corgis, a.k.a. "The Girls", Maggie and Lois. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mable Dirker. The family requested, in lieu of flowers, to please make contributions in memory of Dave to Alexander Leigh Center for Autism (ALCA).
