David Armstrong

David Paul Armstrong, 54, of Ottawa passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at LaSalle County Nursing Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Monday, July 13, 2015 at St. Columba Church. Visitation will be 2:00 - 5:00 pm Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 1:45. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery at a later date. David was born November 27, 1960 in Ottawa, Illinois to Paul and Evelyn (Wilkinson) Armstrong. He attended Echo School/Friendship Village in Ottawa. He was a member of St. Columba Church. David made many friends during life; he never met a stranger. He cherished the many friends he made while at Sullivan House, Friendship House, and during his visits and stays at LaSalle County Nursing Home. He was the life of a party; especially when it came time to giving the toast, listening to music, and dancing. He was an active participant in Special Olympics and received many awards in bowling. He is survived by four siblings, James (Sue) Armstrong of Hastings, NE, Dennis (Carolyn) Armstrong of Los Altos, CA, Mary Kay (Jack) Teausant of Ottawa, and Rick (Donna) Armstrong of Ottawa; and nine nieces and nephews, Jeff Armstrong, Michelle Musgrave, Nicole Merrick, Nate and Luke Armstrong, Travis Teausant, Danielle McCarthy, Greg and Jeff Armstrong. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Evelyn Armstrong; and one brother, Gerald Armstrong. Pallbearers will be Travis Teausant, Morgan McCarthy, Greg Armstrong, Jeff Armstrong, Robert Gaughan, and Matt Keeney.
