Daniel Haws

Daniel Franklin Haws, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away at his home on September 7, 2026. He was born on June 23, 1952, in Ottawa to Vincent Haws and Jessie (Parks) Haws.

Daniel proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was an entrepreneur who started and operated Fox Valley Fireplace, Plano Rental, and Batavia Rental. Most recently, he enjoyed crafting and selling handmade leather goods through his business, Two Rivers Leather.

Daniel loved to travel, especially with his brother and nephew. He also enjoyed fishing, camping, watching the Chicago Cubs and Bears, and spending time with his family. He shared a very special bond with his sister, Terry. He was incredibly proud of his daughters, Michelle and Sarah, from watching Sarah play sports to cheering Michelle on through nursing school. His greatest joy was his grandson, Lee Roseen.

Daniel is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Chad) Dunnam and Sarah Roseen; his grandson, Lee Roseen; his sister, Terry Haws; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Jessie Haws, and his brothers, Vincent Haws, Jr. and David Haws.

Daniel will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and all who knew and loved him.

A burial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at St. Columba Cemetery in Ottawa, Illinois. Following the service, a celebration of his life will be held from 1:00 to 3:00p.m. at the Ottawa American Legion, 901 La Salle Street. All are welcome to attend both the burial service and celebration of life.
