Daniel Brenn Bibbins of Pittsburg was 48 when he passed away of a heart attack on Tuesday, October 28, 2008 in Martinez, California. A service will be held at Pittsburg Funeral Chapel, Pittsburg, California on November 4 at 3:00 pm with visitation from noon to 3:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 8, 2008 at St. Columba Church, Ottawa, Illinois with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Dan will be laid to rest next to his wife Paula at Oakwood Memorial Park, Ottawa. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday, November 7, 2008 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Born on January 5, 1960 in Streator, Illinois to Robert and Colleen (McGrath) Bibbins. He married Paula Jane Yasm at St. Francis of Assisi Church on September 22, 1984. He attended elementary school in Seneca and graduated from Marquette High School in Ottawa. He played basketball, baseball, football, and track. He then attended Illinois State University in Bloomington. He was a member of Plumber and Pipefitters Local 81 in Ottawa. He and his wife, Paula (Yasm) Bibbins, moved to the San Francisco Bay Area 18 years ago where United Airlines employed him. Their daughter, Brittany born in 1995, was the love of their lives. He lost his wife Paula in December 2001 following complications from surgery. In 2005, Dan fell in love again when he met Nancy Hitchings. Recently, he left UAL to work as a plumber for Plumbers Local 159. He traveled extensively with his family. He was a member of the Pittsburg Elks Lodge and the Church of The Good Shepherd. Dan enjoyed fishing and boating and was a member of the Pittsburg Yacht Club. Dan is survived by his daughter Brittany; partner Nancy; sisters Lee Anne Chandler and Kerry Bibbins both of Seneca and Christine Ramsey of Kansas City, Missouri; brothers Robert and Kevin Bibbins both of California and Edward Bibbins of Texas; father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Lois (Coffey) Yasm and brother-in-law Curt Yasm all of Ottawa; three step-brothers Robert (Gail) DelRay, David (Joyce) DelRay and Christopher (Leah) DelRay and five step-sisters Terry (Mac) McKinney, Tracy (Mike) Coffey, Tina (Marty) Giordano, Toni (Steve) Mitchell and Robin (David) Goetting. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Mary Ann DelRay Bibbins.
