Dan Winkler

Daniel "Papa Dan" Winkler, 90, of Ottawa, formerly of Eagle Rock, California, passed away August 30, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, September 25, 2010 at Ottawa Avenue Mausoleum with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Ottawa Funeral Home oversaw his cremation. Daniel was born November 27, 1919 to Max and Susan (Smith) Winkler in Los Angeles, California. He married Ann Stewart January 1, 1950. She died in 1976. He retired while living in California. He is survived by one brother, Walter of Colorado; as well as many nieces and nephews; and his adoptive family, Jim (Judi) McCarrens, Richard (Lois) Drackley, Gerry Vicini; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ann Stewart; the "love of his life", Flora Vicini; three sisters, Lydia Gates, Dawn Winkler, and Sylvia Asmundson; two brothers, Max Winkler, and Frank Winkler.
