Connor James Allen

Connor James Allen, 23, of Normal, formerly of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013, at his home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at St. Columba Church with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Ottawa Funeral Home with prayers at 3:45 p.m. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Connor was born July 16, 1990, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Kevin and Trudy (Moery) Allen. He graduated from Ottawa High School and was a student at ISU. He is survived by his parents; grandmother, Betty Moery of Ottawa; his sister, Samantha (Jason) Loyet of Nashville, TN; his brother, Patrick (Melissa) Allen of Ottawa; his nephew, Hudson; and his beloved dogs and cats, Cowboy, Scooter, Oliver and Max. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Arlene Allen, and Ralph Moery, Jr.; and one uncle, Timothy Allen. Pallbearers will be Patrick Allen, Jason Loyet, Gary Smith, Pat Soenksen, Breanne Bridges and Drew Clapper. Connor was a bright, sensitive, caring soul who cared deeply for his family, friends and things that were important to him. Memorials may be directed to the family to be used for a scholarship in Connor's name.
