Clif "Dale" Hicks

Clif "Dale" Hicks, 79, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at LaSalle County Nursing Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Dale was born June 27, 1935 in Clementsville, Kentucky to Johnnie and Lula May (Wethington) Hicks. He was a 1953 graduate of St. Bernard's High School in Clementsville. He was married to Catherine Eich. He was an avid NASCAR fan and had a passion for cooking. He was a retired chef from a resort in Leesburg, Florida. He is survived by six children, Steve (Julie) Hicks, Tim Hicks, Mike Hicks, Kathy (Alan) Mattes, Laurie Hicks, and Danny (Cheryl) Hicks; nine grandchildren, Michelle, Erica, Zac, TJ, Lacey, Stephanie, Lauren, Abby, and Brandi; eleven great-grandchildren, Logan, Kyleigh, Collin, Madlyn, Karrington, Griffin, Julian Kaydee, Kolton, Reagan, and Nolan,; one brother, James Hicks; one sister, Phyllis Murphy; many nieces and nephews; and his special furry friend, Heidi. He is preceded in death by his parents; one son in infancy, Terry Hicks; and one brother, William Hicks. Memorials may be directed to his family.
