Clarence "Sonny" Daugherty

Clarence "Sonny" Daugherty, 91, of Ottawa, passed away on January 7, 2023 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home and Crematory.

Clarence was born September 8, 1931, in Ottawa, IL, to Clarence and Eva (Hill) Daugherty. He married Carol O'Shea on May 19, 1956 at St. Columba.

Clarence served in the United States Army Corp. of Engineers from 1950 until 1953. He then went on to work for Libby Owens Ford until his retirement. In his free time, he loved to oil paint and travel, he and Carol traveled all over the world together. He was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Carol; his daughter, Pam (James) Anderson; his granddaughter, Haley (Charlie) Stambaugh; and his sister, Phyllis Abell.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Lori Daugherty; and his siblings, Earl, Eloise, and David.
