Clara J. Hauge

March 12, 1920 — January 9, 2016

Clara J. Hauge, 95, of Seneca, Illinois passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Morris Hospital.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Stavanger Lutheran Church with Rev. Philip Peterson officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 to 11:00 am Wednesday prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Stavanger Cemetery. Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home has been entrusted with her arrangements.

Clara was born March 12, 1920 in Rural Grundy County, Illinois to Peter and Astrid (Anderson) Hausken. She married Mark Hauge September 18, 1938; he passed away in 1989. She worked at Linda Myre Interiors taking apart furniture to be refinished. She was a member of Stavanger Lutheran Church, Ladies Aid, and the church choir. She also help prepare and served many church dinners. She is known for making her egg coffee, kringla, and her embroidery work. Clara loved to travel and always had her suitcase ready to go somewhere. She loved the Cubs and was disappointed when the Cubs didn't make it into the world series.

She is survived by her three children, Mary Ann (Richard) Ewing, Ronald (Miriam) Hauge, Wayne (Janet) Hauge; nine grandchildren, Jeffrey (Vera) Ewing, Gregory (Brenda) Ewing, Kristyn Gilman, Jon (Shalene) Hauge, Sarah Hauge, Paul Hauge, Christopher (Jennifer) Hauge, Jennifer (Justin) Swank, and David (Christine) Hauge; ten great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Evelyn Swenhaugen, Shirley Seidler, and Helen Baker.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Mark; one grandson in infancy, Stephen Hauge; four brothers, Russell, Orville, Earl "Butch", and Norman Hausken; two sisters, Lois Anderson and Doris Olson.

Memorials may be directed to Stavanger Lutheran Cemetery or the Seneca Food Pantry.
