Clair "Casey" Jones, 74, of Marseilles passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the Ottawa Pavilion. Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation rites.
Casey was born March 1, 1942 in Martins Ferry, Ohio to Ralph and Mary Jane (Hope) Jones. He married Noreen Vanchure on September 24, 1959 in Dillon, South Carolina.
Casey was a field engineer for GE, where he retired after 15 years. Previously to that he spent many years working as a millwright. Casey had a love for woodworking and creating "toys" for his grandkids. His other interests include trains, auto racing, tools, and spending time in his shop working on the many projects that brought joy to his life. Casey had pride in caring for his yard, and he had an interest in genealogy, which stemmed from the importance of his family history.
He is survived by his wife, Noreen; three sons, Chris (Becky) Jones of Ottawa, Ralph (Tracy) Jones of Marseilles, and Brian (Stephaney) Jones of Bloomington; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ned (Debby) Jones and Ralph (Patty) Jones; five sisters, Jane Ellen (Paul) White, Barbara (Howard) Kelley, Bonnie Travis (Joe Busby), Pam (Mike) Cox, and Mary Beth (Bill) Yaeger.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will hold a private service to celebrate his life. Anyone who wishes to send a sympathy tribute to his home may send it through Blythe Flowers.
