Charlotte Helton

Charlotte Helton, 81, of Ottawa, was called home to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, February 27, 2022.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Baughman Cemetery in Smithfield, IL. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Charlotte was born November 26, 1940, in Fulton County, IL, to Leo and Odessa (Wood) Chambers. She was married to Roger K. Helton Sr. She worked at the University of Missouri for many years prior to her retirement.

She is survived by her son, Roger K. Helton Jr.; her sister, Nancy (Chambers) Scanavino; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roger Sr.; her sisters, Elizabeth Spencer, Betty West, and Evelyn Stegens; her brother, Marvin Althiger; as well as many beloved pets.
