Charles R. Watts, Sr. 75, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014 at his home. Funeral Ceremony will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Driscoll officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 pm Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Ottawa Funeral Home. He will be buried in St. Columba Cemetery with Military Honors. Charles was born June 14, 1938 in Marseilles, Illinois to Matthew and Viola (Veronda) Watts. He married Carol (Donohue) Watts on June 11, 1966 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa. Charles served in the US Navy from June 1961- February, 1965 as an Electricians Mate 3rd Class. He retired from LOF after 43 years of service. He was a member of the Ottawa bowling association, Ottawa Moose Lodge 960, and a lifetime member of the VFW. He is survived by his loving wife, Carol; three children, Lisa (Herb) Jung, Charles Watts Jr., and Mary (Doug) Duing; six grandchildren, Joshua (Carly Stohr) Harsted, Robert C. (Rachel) Harsted, Gunner's Mate 2nd Class US Navy, Miranda (Matt Dekreon) Jung, Isaac Jung, Abigail Duing, Matthew Duing; five great-grandchildren, Rylee Harsted, Ryder Harsted, Jaiyden Provance, Jaxyn Provance, and Mia Dekreon. He is preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Richard "Sparky" Watts. Pallbearers will be Joshua and Robert Harsted, Isaac Jung, Matthew Duing, Craig and Steve Watts. Honorary pallbearers will be Miranda Jung, Abigail Duing, Charlie Morrall, Tom Wicinski, Jaiyden and Jaxyn Prvoance, Rylee and Ryder Harsted and Mia Dekreon. Memorials may be directed to his family.
