Charles Reeder Jr.

Charles W. Reeder Jr., 88, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Monday, January 2, 2017 at Rivershores Care Center. In honoring his wishes he won't be having any services. Ottawa Funeral Home has been entrusted with his cremation rites. Charles was born July 18, 1928 in Ottawa, Illinois to Charles Sr. and Sadie (Smith) Reeder. He retired from LOF after 40 years of service. He married Nancy Cook in Ottawa, Illinois. While his children were growing up he was active in the Cub Scouts and coaching flag football. He was very passionate about blood donation he donated 35 gallons of blood to the Red Cross. Charles and his first wife, Marlene Howard, raised their three children, Jeff (Leigh Ann) Reeder of Marseilles, Brian Reeder of Ottawa, and Gil Reeder of Phoenix; his wife, Nancy; his step-children with Nancy are, Pete (Dawn) Dilley of Marseilles, Cindy (Bill) Dowdall of New York, Pat (Robin) Dilley of Ottawa, and Curt Dilley of Ottawa; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and two nephews, Earl Beals and Charles Beals. He is preceded in death by his parents; one step daughter, Maria; and four siblings, Julius, Earl, Eleanor, and Geraldine.
