Charlene Hanrahan

Charlene Hanrahan, 90, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023 at Aperion Care in Marseilles.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.

Charlene was born June 6, 1933, in Ottawa, IL, to Christopher and Charlotte (Flynn) Kotsonis. She married Paul Bernard. He preceded her in death in 1974. She then married Terrance Hanrahan and he preceded her in death on March 29, 2017.

She was an excellent cook. She worked at Woolworth Lunch Counter, Wallace Grade School (as Mrs. Bernard), and Sherid Correctional Center.

Charlene and her Husband, Terry, loved to garden, fish, and play euchre.

She is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Sprowls and Betty (Jerry) St. Jules; her grandsons, Chris Sprowls and Michael St. Jules; her great grandchildren, Cody and Kyler Sprowls; her stepchildren, Terri Hatfill, Kelly Miller, Kim Hanrahan, and Kevin Hanrahan; her step grandchildren, Kayla, Shannon and Steve Hatfill, Taylor, Colton, Adeline, Emma, and Alexis Miller, and Karen, Christy, Trevin, Travis, Kyle, Chad, Emily, Katie, and Becca Hanrahan; as well as many step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Paul Bernard and Terrance Hanrahan; her grandson, Brian St. Jules; and her step daughter, Lisa Hanrahan.
