Cecelia Lyon

Cecelia "Sissie" Bayer Lyon, 74, of Tonica passed away Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital.

Funeral Services will be held at noon on Saturday, November 30 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, Friday, November 29 at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.

Sissie was born November 14, 1945, in Ottawa to Joseph and Cecelia (Corrigan) Bayer. She married James Lyon on January 18, 1964 at Justice of the Peace. She loved to sew, craft, and garden. She enjoyed thrifting, going to garage sales, and antique shopping.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jim; three sons, James (Linda) of Ottawa, Jason (DeAnna) of LaSalle, and John (Kara) of St. Charles; eight grandchildren, Chelsea Carpenter, Delayne Lyon, Christopher (Lindsay), Justin, Jared, and Aaliyah Lyon, and Caleb Sanchez and Logan Lyon; and six great-grandchildren, Brayden, Keiana, Elyannah, Payton, Ryleigh, and Makenna. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Beverly Rowney, Mary Ellen Michaels, and Patricia Bayer.
