Catherine Schultz

Catherine B. Schultz, 82, of Marseilles passed away Monday, April 4, 2016 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, May 29, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 802 E. Geneva Rd., Wheaton, IL. Light lunch/refreshments at the church will follow. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.

Catherine was born May 27, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Mary (Snoble) Urban. She married John Schultz on August 9, 1952 in Blessed Agnes Catholic Church in Chicago, beginning a great life together built on love, friendship, care, and respect.

She worked at Lincoln School in Maywood and Helene Curtis Industries for many years. Catherine enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, and especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband, John; two children, Mark (Nancy) Schultz of Marengo, IN and Lynn Valastyan of Wheaton; two grandchildren, Scott (Julie) Valastyan and Karen (Tom) Flanary; and one great grandchild, Eva Valastyan.

She is preceded in death by one sister, Sylvia; one brother, Buddy; and her son-in-law, John Valastyan.
