Catherine Schmitz Banks

Catherine Schmitz Banks, 65, of St. Petersburg, Florida, formerly of Ottawa, ended her battle with cancer on Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Graveside service and burial for Cathy were on Monday, December 9, 2013, at St. Columba Cemetery in Ottawa. Cathy was born June 26, 1948, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Joseph W. and Catherine Ann (McManus) Schmitz. She married Joel Banks on June 4, 1967, in Huntsville, Alabama. She is survived by her husband, Joel; her daughters, Molly Carren and Ida Francis; her mother, Catherine Baldoni; a sister, Joni Stevenson; and a brother, Peter Schmitz. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph W. Schmitz. In lieu of flowers, send a donation to the American Cancer Society.
