Catherine A. Arroyo, 87, of Ottawa, IL passed away, Saturday, October 23, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital in Streator, IL. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 28, 2010 at St. Patrick's Church in Ottawa. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Fr. Philip Halfacre officiating and prayers at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Catherine was born July 2, 1923 in Chicago, IL to Tinidad and Leonore (Huerta) Almeda. She married Frank C. Arroyo Sr. July 1, 1939 at the courthouse in Davenport, IA. He died February 24, 2001. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church and the Woman of the Moose. She worked at Owens in Streator as a Selector for many years. She is survived by two daughters, Connie Boswell of Ottawa, and Linda (Rick) Schaibley of Streator. IL; two sons, Ronnie (Sue) Arroyo of Ottawa and Frank Jr of Peru; one daughter-in-law, Darlene Arroyo of Streator; twenty four grandchildren; fifty eight great grandchildren; eleven great great grandchildren; three sisters, Victoria (Sid) Hensley of North Carolina, Herlinda Almeda of Ottawa, Josie (Jerry) Jeffries of Ottawa; four brothers, Ray (Bette) of Streator, Frances (Peppy) Almeda of Ottawa, Trini (Marie) of Utica, Steven Almeda of Ottawa; two sister-in-laws, Rita and Beverly Almeda; one brother-in-law, John Cabrera; and many nieces and nephews. Catherine is preceded in death by her husband, Frank; one daughter, Lillian Arroyo, in infancy; one son, David Arroyo; two brothers, Joseph and Anthony Almeda; and one sister, Mary Cabrera. Pallbearers will be Chris, Ronnie Jr. Jeff, Justin, and Uli Arroyo, Max Jr., Jason, and Trini Boswell, Kyle and Christopher Schaibley, Joe Rosencrans, Sam Heenan, Eric Wheeler, Ryan Burgwald, and Doug Billings. Honorary pallbearers will be her great Grandchildren. Memorials may be directed to the family.
