Carol L. Wells, 66, of Ottawa, IL passed away from cardiac arrest on September 21, 2017 at Morris Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Monday, September 25 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be from 2-5 pm, Sunday, September 24 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Carol was born December 8, 1950 in Ottawa to Robert and Ivis (Donahue) McGrath. She married Rusty Wells on November 10, 1978 in Ottawa, IL. Carol graduated from St. Columba in 1964 and Marquette High School in 1968. For 37 years she worked at First National Bank of Ottawa as a private banking officer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Carol was a cheerleading coach at St. Columba in 1985, which won the Peoria Diocese State Championship. She was also the cheerleading coach at Marquette High School from 1986-1988. Carol loved spending time with her family and crocheting baby blankets for loved ones. Her family wants to extend their gratitude to everyone for all the prayers, support and kind words during this difficult time. Carol is survived by her husband Rusty Wells of 39 years; four daughters, Tricia (Wells) King of Ottawa, Tiffanie (Jay) Wayland of Moline, IL, Tracey (Bob) Nolting of Lockport, IL, and Tisha (Jesse) Menke of Kenosha, WI; nine grandchildren, Jake (TreeLa) Wayland, Makenzie King, Lakyn Wayland, Rilee King, Kaylee King, Jayde Wayland, Aidan Nolting, Mason Menke, and Addison Nolting; four great-grandchildren, AuBree Wayland, Evelyn Arteaga, Liam Wayland, and Freyja Arteaga; her mother, Ivis McGrath from Ottawa, IL; and her siblings, Michael McGrath of Quincy, IL, Dennis (Cathy) McGrath of Ottawa, IL, Sally (Ed) DePaoli of Ottawa, IL, Patrick McGrath of Quincy, IL, and Jim (Kellie) McGrath of Quincy, IL. She will be especially missed by her loving puppy, Zoey "Little Bubs." She was preceded in death by her father, Robert P. McGrath. In lieu of flowers or gifts the family is requesting donations to be sent to Pet Project Animal Shelter, PO Box 163, Ottawa, IL 61350. "A limb has fallen from the family tree that says grieve not for me. Remember the best times, the laughter, the song, the good life I lived while I was strong."
