Carol A Shallhorn

Carol Ann Shallhorn, 76, of Ottawa, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa.

Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at a later date.

Carol was born November 2, 1948 in Streator, IL to Frank and Ludmilla (Wiges) Coates. She attended Streator High School and graduated the class of 1966. She married Daniel Shallhorn on June 20, 1970 at St. Anthony Church in Streator.

Carol worked for Market USA/Teleperformance for many years until her retirement at 74 years old. She was extremely proud of her work and earned many awards there. When she wasn't working, she loved being with her family. She adored her children and grandchildren. When the kids were younger, she was always volunteering as room mom and chaperoning their trips.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Daniel; her children, Jason (Laurie) Shallhorn and Melissa Shallhorn; her grandchildren, Miranda Shallhorn, Matt Koster, and Bradley Koster; and her siblings, Pam Meyers, Kathy Coates, Sharon Coates, Jimmy (Dottie) Coates, and Billy Coates.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ludmilla; and her sister, Marilyn Richard.
