Carol Kucera

Carol P. Kucera, 58, of Ottawa passed away Friday, February 8, 2019, at her home.

Memorial services will be held at7 pm, Friday, February 15 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. Corey Krengiel officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm, prior to services, at the funeral home.

Carol was born January 9, 1961, in Los Angeles, California to Karel and Emilie (Sobotka) Kucera. She owned a pastry shop, Dolcé Vita, in Galena, Illinois. She loved it, and her real passion was in the kitchen. She had an extraordinary skill for cooking and baking elaborate meals with endless courses. Friends or family could visit her home at any time, and there would be something simmering on the stove or something bubbling in the oven. There was always a smell unparalleled to the last time you were there. Carol also had an eye and love for antiques and unique treasures. She put great enthusiasm toward buying unique items for a deal with the hopes of finding a new home with someone who loved them as much as she did.

Most recently, she worked customer service on social media for an online company, Gallery Furniture in Houston, Texas. Carol lived her life to the fullest and brought warmth, joy, and happiness to anyone and everyone she crossed paths with. She had an amazing ability to connect deeply with people and positively affect their lives. She was a wonderful Free spirit who loved to read and sunbathe on the beach, preferably at the same time. To those who knew her, she was truly one-of-a-kind and will be sorely missed.

She is survived by her children, William Data, Wayne Data, Cody Data, and Harlow Righetti; her sister, Kimberly Kucera; and grandchildren, William Data Jr, Ethan Data, and Dakota Data.
