Carol Hylin

Carol A. (Sagi) Hylin, 84, of Ottawa, IL, passed away on December 17, 2022 at Ottawa Pavilion.

Funeral Services will be held at 6:00PM, Monday, December 26, 2022, at Ottawa Funeral home with Rev. Gary Caster officiating. Visitation will be  from 4:00PM until the time of service. Burial will be at a later date in St. Columba Cemetery.

Carol was born April 20, 1938, in Ottawa, to John J. and Barbara (Tabor) Sagi. She married Robert Hylin at St. Patricks Church on February 27, 1960. Together they celebrated 62 years of marriage.

Carol worked as a registered nurse, retiring from Ottawa Community Hospital.  She was a former Class President in 1959 at Passivant Hospital, Chicago (a nursing school that is now Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago), former President of the Ottawa Junior Women's Club, and volunteered at the St. Patrick's Library.  Carol had a love for puzzles and word search books.

She is survived by her husband, Robert Hylin; her sons, Kevin (Kathy) Hylin, Eric (Kristie) Hylin; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a brother, John. A. Sagi.            .

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, John and Barbara Sagi; and her daughter, Amy Marie Ferguson.                                                     .

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Pet Project, Marseilles, and/or the Illinois Valley PADS Shelter.
