Carl D. Winchester

Carl D. Winchester, 75, of Ottawa, died Monday, August 4, 2008 at his home. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, August 8, 2008 at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Katcher officiating. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 PM Thursday, August 7 at the funeral home. Carl was born January 1, 1933 in Eagle Township, to Luther and Alice (Moreland) Winchester. He married Karen Heath November 3, 1962 at Zion Lutheran Church. Carl Served in the United States Air Force in Korea during the Korean War. He is a member of the American Legion. He was an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. Mr. Winchester is survived by his wife, Karen; one daughter, Jeune (Andrew) Liang of Marseilles; two sons, Carl Winchester Jr. and Matthew (Kristy) Winchester, all of Ottawa; three grandchildren, Alyssa and Luke Winchester and Lauren Liang; seven sisters, Darlene (Bill) Wilson, Naoma Harcharik, Dolores Eiben, Alice Maltas, Ellen Maxine Super, Judy (Bob) McLaughlin and Joyce Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brohters, Ronald, James "Harry", Jackson and Leo; and two sisters, Ruth Schafer and Diane Hicks. Pallbearers will be Andrew Liang, Craig Eiben, Jim Rowney, Rick Gruenwald, Paul Winchester, Andrew Winchester, Jason Allen and Bob McLaughlin. Honorary Pallbearers are Alyssa and Luke Winchester and Lauren Liang.
