Carl L. Carpenter Jr., 55, of Ottawa, Illinois passed away Monday, October 26, 2015 at his mother's home after short battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday October 31, 2015 at the Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Isaac Escobar the National Guard Chaplin officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Carl was born November 14, 1959 in Ottawa, IL. to Carl Sr. and Mary (Biffany) Carpenter. Carl worked for the Welsch Ready Mix Concrete Company; Local 179 Teamsters in Joliet. He was a member of the National Guard from 1980 to 1998. He loved the Bears, stock car races, rodeos but most of all loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his mother, Mary Wright of Ottawa; one son, Cory Carpenter at home; four daughters, Christy (Scott Caselli) Carpenter of Marseilles, Kayla (Aric) Kain of Ottawa, Tiffany (Josh) Donahue of Marseilles, Chelsea Carpenter of Ottawa; eleven grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carla (Robert) Keith of Ottawa, Mylynda Tate of Owasso, OK.; one brother Cary Wright of Ottawa; two step-sisters, Sean Schultz of Green Bay, WI., and Tara Sommerville of Ottawa. He is preceded in death by his father, Carl Carpenter Sr.; his step father, Palmer Wright; and his step son, Eric. Pallbearers will be Rich Mercker, Randy Horn, Les Shepard, Ron Neurohr, Steve Cosby, Dave Kraft and Brian Battistelli Honorary Pallbearers will be retired National Guard Members and co-workers. Memorials may be directed to the family. In honor of Carl his family would love to see you wear your Bears jerseys at the services.
