Camille C. McLachlan, 91, of Ottawa died peacefully on January 19, 2014, with her family at her side at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Ottawa. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 pm Friday, January 24, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Her visitation will be 9:30 - 12:30 Friday, January 24 at Ottawa Funeral Home. She will be buried at St. Columba Cemetery. Camille was born June 28, 1922 in Grand Ridge, Illinois to Thomas and Mary V. (O'Neil) Kuhn. She married Emmett J. McLachlan on August 23, 1947. They recently celebrated their Sixty-sixth wedding anniversary on August 23rd. She is survived by her husband, Emmett; a sister; Marilynn Jean Kuhn of Ottawa; seven children, John (Linda) of Ottawa, Kathleen (Marty) Corso of Hampshire, Marcia (Dan) Espinoza of Pekin, Robert of Rancho Mirage, CA., Deborah (Dave) Duffey of Ottawa, Camille (Bob) Dunn of Ottawa, and Lisa (Dean) Eiten of Ottawa; eight grandchildren; Katie Colonna, Cammy Corso Callahan, Danielle Blosser, Anne Bialobreski, John Dunn, Jordan McLachlan, Carly Corso, and Rob Dunn; five great-grandchildren; Noah and Maeve Callahan, Jack Blosser, Reese and Harper Bialobreski. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Thomas Gregory Kuhn, and an infant sister, Mary Jeanette Kuhn. Camille was a graduate of Ottawa High School and graduated with a Home Economics and English degree from Rosary College in River Forest, Illinois. She began her teaching career at Providence High School in Chicago. After raising her family, she resumed her teaching career as a junior high language arts and art teacher at Wallace Grade School. Camille retired from teaching in 1988. Camille was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Altar and Rosary Society. Camille enjoyed spending time with family and friends and attending daily mass with her husband, Emmett. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Marquette Academy or St. Francis of Assisi Church.
