Bruce R. Laatz

Bruce R. Laatz, 62, of Ottawa, IL passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Ottawa Regional Hospital and Healthcare Center. Ottawa Funeral Home oversaw the cremation. A Celebration of Life will be Saturday January 2, 2010 2:00 pm at Duffy's in Utica. Bruce was born March 24, 1947 in Ottawa, IL to Clarence and Lenore (Ballard) Laatz. he went to Seneca schools,He and Sue Lyle were co-owners of H&S Construction Company in Ottawa. He was a member of the Masonic Temple and the Carpenters' Union. Bruce is survived by two daughters, Tania (Tony) Daffron of Ellettsville, IN and Heather (Bob) Close of Washington, IL; seven grandchildren, Brittany and Melanie Linton, Brandy and, Tony Daffron Jr., Gabrielle, Abigail, and Hannah Close; two sisters, Marie Carlisle of Joliet, IL, and Dixie (Jim) Vogel of Cornell, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Brandi Linton. Memorials may be directed to the family in care of the Ottawa Funeral Home.
