Brittany Judy

Brittany L. Judy, 26, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away Sunday, August 19, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2012 at St. Columba Church with the Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 23 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Brittany was born May 31, 1986, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Ray and Sherri (Griglione) Judy. She worked at Lincoln School as a Special Education teacher. She was a member of the Teachers' Union and St. Columba Church. She was an inspiration to her sisters and loved her family. She found her passion for teaching during her first job as a dance instructor. From there she furthered her passion for teaching by earning her Bachelor of Arts in Special Education from Illinois State University and was currently working towards her masters in education. She gained a great amount of respect by putting each child's personal needs first throughout her teaching career. She loved and cared for each student, friend, and especially family member. Brittany's genuine compassion was easily felt by those whose lives she touched. She is survived by her parents; two sisters, Breanne (Nick) Sergenti and McKenzie Judy; three aunts, Patricia Griglione, Julie (Ron) Paquette, and Debbie Judy-Gross; one uncle, Tony (Janet) Griglione; her grandma, Marge Griglione; her fiancée, Chad Marks; her puppy, Bently "Bugga"; and nine cousins, Gary Jr. Griglione, Chris Griglione, Jake Griglione, Dexter Paquette, Carlee Paquette, Dusty Ellen Gross, Tabor Griglione, Hannah Griglione, and Harley Griglione. She was preceded in death by her grandma, Irene Judy; her grandpa, Raymond Judy, Sr.; and her uncle, Gary Griglione. Pallbearers will be Nick Sergenti, Ron Paquette, Dexter Paquette, Tony Griglione, Tabor Griglione, Atlee Stalker, and TJ Stalker. Memorials may be directed to the St. Columba Church Building Restoration.
