Brian Thompson

Brian D. Thompson, 32, of Ottawa, passed away Sunday, September 29, 2013. Funeral Service for Brian will be at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2013, at Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, prior to services, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Brian was born December 30, 1980, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Glenn and Susan (Hockenberry) Thompson. He was a laborer for Local 393. He is survived by his parents; a daughter, Brenda Thompson; his girlfriend, Katy Jones and her son, Kameron; and a son who is due on Christmas Day; his brother, Donnie (Harmony) Thompson of Ottawa; three sisters, Dana (Victor) Mancilla of Oglesby, Julie (Casey) Kelly of Earlville, and Tara (Nathan Henry) Thompson of Coal Valley; and six nieces and nephews, Michael, Emma, Loren, Jakob, Riley, and Blake. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rudy and Ruie Thompson and Art and Betty Hockenberry; a nephew, Tyler Thompson; and uncles, Gene and Donald Thompson and Craig Hockenberry. Pallbearers will be Curt Linn, Jeff Weber, Dave Fowler, Matt Engel, Donnie Thompson, Kylie Goodman, BJ Baima, and Michael Thompson. Memorials may be directed to the family and they will be setting up a memorial fund for his children.
