Brian O'Donnell

Brian Thomas O'Donnell, 63, of Ottawa passed away on April 10, 2025 at his home.

A visitation will be held on Monday, April 21, from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Ottawa Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am on Tuesday, April 22, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery.

He was born on November 17, 1961, in Ottawa, IL, to Ron and Rita (Bartolucci) O’Donnell.

A master of his trade, Brian was a respected Union Carpenter and a dedicated farmer, known for his passion and selflessness. His love for the outdoors was evident in his enthusiasm for riding horses and four-wheelers, Chevrolet trucks, boating, and fishing. Brian was always ready to lend a helping hand and cherished time spent with friends and family and always enjoyed a home-cooked meal. Remembered as a great father and an even better friend, Brian's spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Brian's legacy is carried on by his loving son, Sean A. O'Donnell; his brother, Thomas O'Donnell; his sister, Kim (Chris) Zander; his parents, Ron and Rita O'Donnell; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Jake, Ava, and Olivia Zander. His loyal companion, Buddy the dog, will miss his kind presence.
