Brendin Miskell

Brendin H. Miskell, 39, of Ottawa, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 21, 2024.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 3, from 1:00 pm until 5:00 pm at the American Legion in Ottawa. Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.

Brendin was born February 27, 1984, in Ottawa, IL, to Jerry Miskell and Brenda Smith-Harkins.

Brendin loved to spend time outdoors fishing, golfing, and taking many canoe trips. He loved his son, Devin and his daughter, Jenna, very much as well as his two dogs, Charlie and Zoey. Furthermore, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially getting together for family cookouts. He was always referred to as the FUNCLE by his nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by all who had the opportunity to meet him.

He is survived by his parents, Jerry Miskell and Brenda Harkins; his two children, Devin Schmoker and Jenna Watland; his granddaughter, Aaliyah Watland; his siblings, Darrin (Nancy) Miskell, Christy Miskell, and Angie (Chris) Webb; his paternal grandma, Patricia Miskell; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Shirley Fox and Howard Smith; his paternal grandpa, Gerald Miskell; as well as his sister, April Miskell.
