William J. McDonald Jr., 61, of Cedar Point passed away Saturday, November 3, 2018 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Memorial service will be at 3:00 Saturday, November 17, 2018 Ottawa American Legion with Rev. Rick Mitchell officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Ottawa American Legion Honor Guards Post 33 following his service.
Bill was born August 3, 1957, in Morris, Illinois to William J. and Mary (Wood) McDonald. He married Becky Keele on Januray 12, 1994. He proudly served in the United States Army. Bill worked as an over the road truck driver for Maverick Transportation, previously at Advantage Logistics, as a mechanic and as a carpenter. He was a member of the NRA and a prior member of the Ottawa River Rescue Squad for many years. Bill was a hard worker and loved spending time with his family. In his free time he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Becky; five children, Jody (David) Ricci, Joshua Adams, John Adams, Christy (Manny) Colon, and Beth Debernardi; eight grandchildren; and two siblings, Mary (Jackie) Wise and Richard Allan McDonald.
William was preceded in death by his parents.
