Betty Jean Blue

Betty J. Blue, 81, of Sandwich, formerly of Marseilles, died Thursday, September 29, 2011 at her home. Funeral Service will be 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2011 at Ottawa Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Guthrie officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, October 2, 2011 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ottawa Avenue Cemetery. Betty was born July 19, 1930 in Ottawa, Illinois to Paul and Ann (Nanouski) Kolotka. She married Daniel Blue on February 27, 1949 in Ottawa. She is survived by one daughter, Kathy (Bill) Smart of Sandwich; two sons, Brad (Patty) Blue of Channahon, and Dan (Lauree) Blue Jr. of Altamont; eight grandchildren, Shane Smart, Brenda Sharp, Jimmy, Caitlyn, Bethany, Brent, Danielle, and Tim Blue; one brother, James (Carolyn) Kolotka, of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and one great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Blue; one grandson, Ryan Smart; one sister, Cathryn Newcomb; and one brother, Paul Kolotka. Pallbearers will be Shane Smart, Jim Blue, David Love, and Kyle Sharp. Memorials may be directed to the family.
