Bettie L. Lowman

Bettie L. Lowman, 84, of Ottawa, passed away January 7, 2012 at Ottawa Regional Hospital. Funeral Service for Bettie will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Ottawa. Visitation will be 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 12, 2012 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park. Bettie was born May 28, 1927 in Ottawa, Illinois to Ernie and Bertha (Bryan) Hudkins. She married Donald Lowman on December 10, 1946 at St. Francis of Assisi Church. He died February 5, 2007. She was a 60 year member of First Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping for over 48 years, spending time with family, eating out, cutting newspaper clippings for friends and family, and taking care of her dogs and cats. She is survived by one daughter, Dawn (Wayne) Pike of Ottawa; one son, Donald (Gail) Lowman of Naplate; four grandchildren, Joshua, Kyle, and Trevor Lowman and Paisley Pike-Pratt; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death her husband, Donald; a sister, Barbara Jean "Buzz" Gromm; a brother, John Hudkins; and her special furry friends, Mac and Stryker. Pallbearers will be Kyle, Josh, and Trevor Lowman, Michael D'Atri, Wayne Pike, and Eric Pratt. Honorary Pallbearer will be Paisley Pratt. Memorials may be directed to Pet Project.
