Bernita Armstrong

Bernita Leslie Armstrong, 79, of Mendota, passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Allure of Mendota.

Cremation rites have been entrusted to Ottawa Funeral Home.

Bernita was born November 20, 1944, in London, England, to Herbert and Ivy Hubbart. She married Roger Armstrong on August 22, 1965 in Wedron, IL. He passed away August 7, 2020.

She worked at Carson Pirie Scott as a seamstress for many years prior to working in the microfilm department at the LaSalle County Courthouse. She also worked as a Mary Kay consultant. When she wasn't working, she enjoyed doing many crafts, especially painting. She frequented many craft shows and always had a great time at them. She was also an avid gardener and always tended to her beautiful flowers. She was a great cook and always put out a feast for family holidays.

She is survived by her son, Jon (Michelle) Armstrong, her step children, Laura Jean Hunt, Roger Armstrong Jr., and Frank Melton (LaRae) Armstrong; her grandchildren, Devin (Caleb) Dickman, Connor Armstrong, Shelby Natinga, and numerous step grandchildren; as well as her great grandchildren, Brayden Michael and Delaney Grace Dickman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Ivy and her husband, Roger.
