Benjamin Jarigese

Benjamin "Benjie" Jarigese, Jr., 68, of Ottawa passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019 at OSF St. Anthony's Medical Center in Rockford.

Memorial Services will be held at 1 pm, Thursday, December 12 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. David Kipfer officiating. Visitation will be from noon to 1, one hour prior to services, at the funeral home. He will be buried at St. Columba Cemetery.

Benjie was born June 22, 1951 in Ottawa to Benjamin and Seferina (Rodriguez) Jarigese, Sr. He was a proud local union laborer and was very pro-union. Benjie loved all aspects of music; listening, playing, and going to concerts. He enjoyed gardening and making hot sauce for family and friends. He had a soft spot for his beloved wiener dogs, Skeeter, Lela, and Skipper.

He is survived by his mother, Seferina of Ottawa; his brother, Mike (Debbie) of Frankfort and two sisters, Carol (Mario) Corona of Balch Springs, TX and Barbie (late Denny) Hamilton of Springfield and many nieces and nephews of which he was Godfather to many. He was preceded in death by his father, his loving companion, Suzanne; and his sister, Ann Jarigese-Miller.
