Barry Girard, 51, of Ottawa, Illinois, passed away January 5, 2014, at Ottawa Pavilion. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, at Ottawa Funeral Home with Pastor Sherry Stevenson of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be at Oakwood Memorial Park. Barry was born November 25, 1962, in Tucson, Arizona, to Louis and Shirley M. (Stalker) Girard. He married Lisa Stohr on July 18, 1981, in Ottawa, Illinois. He was a graduate of Ottawa High School and Automotive School in Wichita, Kansas. Barry worked as an auto mechanic and maintenance. The last few years he was self employed. He is survived by his loving wife; two daughters, Bridgett (Luis) Castro of Ottawa and Lynn (Tyler) Lewis of Texas; four grandchildren Hannah and Kami Castro and Wyatt and Cheyenne Lewis; and a brother, Terry (Carol) Girard of Serena. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joan Cupples Pallbearers will be Tyler Lewis, Tommy Greene, Austin Girard, Brett Turner, Chris Lemke, and William Knox, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Wyatt Lewis, Terra Turner, Scott Girard and Hannah Castro. Barry was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Memorials may be directed to the family.
