Barbara Sullivan

March 20, 1945 — January 21, 2015

It is with great sadness that the family of Barbara "Barb" Sullivan, 69, of Ottawa announces her passing on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 to be with her Lord and Savior. A celebration of Barb's life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Christ Community Church, 807 LaSalle St in Ottawa, with Pastor John Nordstrom Sr. officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services from 10:00 - 11:00 am Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Christ Community Church. In honor of Barb's wishes her earthly remains will be cremated. Ottawa Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with her arrangements. Barbara was born March 20, 1945 in Evergreen Park, Illinois to Louis and Helen (McNamara) Illichman. Barb's cherished friends and family will always remember her one of a kind spirit, her sense of adventure, her vivacious attitude, and her colorful personality. Most of all she'll be remembered for her insightful wisdom who inspired so many. She is leaving behind her "rock", her devoted husband Joe of 48 years of marriage; her beloved daughter, Kimberly and her supportive son-in-law Michael Kimbrell; and her loving son, Jason. She will be sorely missed by her grandchildren, Eli Kimbrell, Jenica Sullivan, Sara Kimbrell, Patrick Sullivan, Meghan Miller, Drake Curtis, and Avery Coulson. They were the loves of her life and her greatest source of joy! She was also a friend of Bill W. for 27 years. She will be joining in eternity with her mother, Helen; her father, Lois; her brother, Bob; and her faithful friend and companion, Nixie. At Barb's request in lieu of flowers, please send donations in her name to Pet Project, 2676 E. 2575 Road, Marseilles, IL 61341
