Barbara Damron

Barbara Lynn (Buckley) Damron, 65, of Ottawa, passed away suddenly on September 25, 2026 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.

The family will receive guests before Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, October 1, from 9:30am until 10:30am at St. Columba. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30am. Burial will follow in St. Columba Cemetery.

Barb was born in Ottawa, on October 7, 1960 to William and Marcella (Stoudt) Buckley. She attended St. Columba Grade School and Marquette High School. She married Dennis Damron on July 15, 1988 at St. Columba Church. Barb worked for many years as a CNA, where she cared for countless patients and nursing home residents with great compassion and love. In her free time, Barb enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, fishing, and spending time in prayer, at Eucharistic Adoration.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; her brothers, William, David (Suzy), and Ronald (Kathy); her sister, Mary (Glenn) Mann; her sister in law, Debbie (Tim) Hanson; nephews and nieces, Ryan Mann, Evan Mann, Alex Hansen, Christopher Hansen, Steven Hansen, Rachel Callaway, Becky Callaway, and Megan Buckley; and several great nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Marcella; her sister, Karen; and her in-laws, Bob and Rose Von Ruden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Marquette Academy.
