Barbara J. Bongartz

Barbara Bongartz, 80, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 9 at Ottawa Funeral Home with Rev. Duane Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00, Tuesday, June 8 at Ottawa Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park. Barbara was born November 3, 1929 in LaSalle, IL to William and Agnes (Kuzma) Duffy. She married James A Bongartz Jr. July 21, 1951 in LaSalle, IL. She was a member of St. Columba Church and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Barbara is survived by her husband, Jim; two sons, Bill (Karen) of Freeport, Il, and Michael (Paula) of Maple Grove, Il; four grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Eric, and Kellen Bongartz; and one great granddaughter, Josie Bongartz. She is preceded in death by one brother, William and a grandson. Memorials may be directed to Vitas Hospice or The Alzheimer's Association.
